PROJECT FACTS
This state-of-the art track facility was completed implementing the fast-track method to allow the University of Arkansas to hold the SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 2006. This project was completed in just 149 days! There were two superintendents, 20 subcontractors and over 200 people working in a small area, 7 days a week all while school was in session and with no lost time accidents.
The facility includes a Mondo track surface and is one of 2 track facilities in North America certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It is a 400 meter oval track with nine 48″ wide lanes with a 36.8 meter radius and two nine 48″ wide sprint tracks. The infield area includes a Steeplechase Water Jump pit along with 2 shot put rings; 2 hammer/discuss rings; 2 bi-directional pole vault areas; 2 bi-directional long and triple jump areas; 2 Javelin runways and 2 high jump areas.
